Walk Thirty Six

August 27, 2011

Starting at Ramsey Bus Station, walk 36 was a little over 14 miles and took about 4 ½ hours. From Ramsey bus station I walked out to Glen Auldyn and followed the greenway up to the Mountain Box. This stretch was very pretty with lovely views back towards the Point of Ayre.

From the Mountain Box I walked to the Bungalow at the base of Snaefell then up and over Mullgh Ouyr to Slieau Lhoist. At the top of Slieau Lhoist the views over the coast line from Laxey to Douglas were stunning. It is quite amazing how you can walk in the same general direction and achieve a completely different feel for the scenery by simply walking ½ mile left or right of the previous outing.

From the top of Slieau Lhoist I headed towards The Mast and then down to the B12 which I followed to Honeyhill and then down to the Begoade Road and home. Weather wise it was a little overcast, however, this proved to be a really enjoyable and relatively easy ramble.
